  1. MIDI routes are associated with every installed synth, every file and
  2. every window.  Use this gadget to invoke display of a requester which
  3. allows you to view and/or change the MIDI route associated with -this-
  4. window.
  5.  
  6. A `SEND' button is placed on this requester for your convenience should
  7. you want to modify the MIDI route prior to issuing the SEND command.
  8.  
  9. The `ROUTE' button will update the MIDI route associated with the active
  10. window to the MIDI route displaying in the requester.
  11.  
  12. The `CANCEL' button will shut down the requester and no changes will
  13. take place.
  14.  
  15. To change the MIDI route, hold down the left mouse button while pointing
  16. to one of the MIDI route numbers.  The number will turn red and the
  17. pointer will disappear.  Continue to hold down the left mouse button and
  18. move the mouse up to increment and down to decrement the value.  Release
  19. the mouse button when the correct value is displaying.

  21. S-Ch  ==>  Sysex Communications Channel.  Make sure this channel matches
  22.            the channel of the instrument you want to communicate with.

  24. Ch    ==>  Audition Channel.  This channel is used for the "Note On"
  25.            commands generated by "The PatchMeister".  This channel will
  26.            more than likely be the same as the `S-Ch' channel.  However,
  27.            some synths (i.e.  Roland MT-32) use one channel for Sysex
  28.            Communications, and a different set of channels for "Note On"
  29.            commands.  Make sure this channel is set to match the channel
  30.            on which your synth will respond to "Note On" commands.

  32. In    ==>  MIDI In.  Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI In port.

  34. Out   ==>  MIDI Out.  Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI Out port.

  36. P-Bay ==>  Patch Bay MIDI Channel and Patch Bay Program Number.  If you
  37.            are using a patch bay, make sure the MIDI channel matches the
  38.            channel that your patch bay is listening to, and that the
  39.            program number is the program (patch) that will establish the
  40.            proper MIDI route to this synth.
  41.  
  42. Patch ==>  Patch Number.  Some sysex requests require that you specify
  43.            a specific patch number.  For instance you may request that
  44.            Patch 5 be transmitted.
